# Developer Portal Account

To access the Plex APIs through the developer portal, you must have **Plex IAM (Identity and Access Management)** activated for your organization.

> Plex IAM must be activated before you can create a developer portal account. If your organization has not yet activated Plex IAM, see [Activating Plex IAM](/get-started/activating-plex-iam) for instructions.

## Prerequisites

Before setting up your developer portal account, ensure the following:

* Your organization has an active Plex subscription
* Plex IAM has been activated for your environment
* You have a valid company email address associated with your Plex account
* You have coordinated with your **Plex Champion** (your organization's designated Plex administrator)
